Mythic Items Are Going to be Changed in Near Future

Riot Games is maintaining its streak of consistent communication with the League of Legends community. The lead game designer, Axes, has shared another round of Quick Gameplay Thoughts today outside of the regular cycle. In this post, the developer initiated a discussion on the current state of roaming mid laners and roaming as a strategy in general. Moreover, they provided insights into their approach to balancing champions in the foreseeable future. Between these two topics, Axes also briefly addressed the state of some items, specifically two of the three Lethality Mythic items.

For “game health reasons,” the balance team thinks that Prowler’s Claw and Duskblade of Draktharr require some adjustments soon. Prowler’s Claw is breaking counterplay on too many champions in ways that are uncomfortable for high-skilled play.

The balance team believes that Duskblade of Draktharr is “currently fine-ish” because they keep it somewhat weak. When it is strong, it tends to break down counterplay on non-assassin champions like Darius and Master Yi for low-skilled play. According to U.GG, Master Yi has exceptional positive win rates when the jungler builds the lethality item, with numbers above 60 percent.

The developers have not disclosed the specifics of how and when these changes will occur, but they wanted the community to know that they are actively working on them and seeking improvements.
